About Professor Kenny
Colleen “Col” Kenny has spent her career studying how ideas spread, affect behavior, and drive change. An avid creator and consumer of all manner of content, Colleen delights in peoples’ eternal quest for understanding and growth. She agrees with Mark Twain that: “Against the assault of laughter, nothing can stand,” and believes that learning should be fun and entertaining.
Colleen is an Adjunct Professor of communications and marketing at NYU Tisch School of the Arts in New York City and Union College in Cranford, NJ. She has a Master’s degree in Mass Communication from UNC-Chapel Hill (Go Heels!) and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Spanish from the University of Notre Dame (Go Irish!), where she graduated with honors.
Colleen spent two decades in marketing, communications, and content leadership roles at Fortune 100 companies, including the New York Life Insurance Company and the CBS Television Network. While creating content strategies and campaigns for some of the world’s best-known entertainment brands, Colleen’s adventures traversed Hollywood, Madison Avenue, and Silicon Valley/Alley amid the explosion of social media on mobile devices and binge-viewing on streaming platforms.
Colleen serves on the board of Prescription Justice, a 501c4 non-profit dedicated to ending the crisis of high drug prices in America. She is an active member of the New Providence Mental Health Advocacy and Education Committee and is certified in Mental Health First Aid by the National Council for Mental Wellbeing.
